Meet the founder

The story behind XploreVietnam

More people than ever want to live in Vietnam: remote workers, families, retirees and founders who have seen what life here can be. The paperwork has never been simple, and the rules change often.

Doing it alone usually means weeks of reading forums and official notices, then finding out at the immigration office that one document was wrong. Some people spend months on a process that should take a few weeks.

We started XploreVietnam because we have been through it ourselves and have helped friends and clients through it many times. We know which steps trip people up and how to avoid them.

Our goal is to be the team you trust with your move, so living in Vietnam starts as smoothly as possible for you and your family.

How I ended up here

I didn’t move to Vietnam because I had a plan. I moved because the plan I had wasn’t enough.

After a decade building a career in Canada, I walked away, sold the condo and bought a one-way ticket. I spent two years in Europe working out what came next.

What came next was Vietnam. I arrived in November 2022 and started teaching English. Within two years I was in property management, and then I founded XploreVietnam to fix the problems I wish someone had fixed for me.

I’ve visited 31 countries. Vietnam is the only one that made me stop moving.
